The census list him being born in Ireland. The 1870 list him being married to Bridget Rowland with hte following children: 1. Thomas (1858) 2. Mary (1862) 3. John (1868) 4. James jr (1870) The 1880 list James, married to Bridget with the following children: 1. James jr 2. Anne (1872) 3. John(1875) 4. Michael (1878) James Sr. and Bridget moved their family to Hart, Michigan in 1882, where both James and Bridget live out the rest of thier days. I too am looking for answers regarding who James was and when he got to the states. Any information you can share would be great. Thanks.
