The parents were Irish-born and the sons both Lancastrians by birth. Francis (40) was a weaver and Ann (30) a cap maker. Samuel's age was given as 10 and John's as 5, but ages were rounded in the 1841 Census. I believe that John was my great-grandfather who was convicted of housebreaking in Manchester in 1857 under the name John Walker and transported to Western Australia in 1858.
