As I stated earlier they are one-stepping through possibilities and eliminating various disorders. A medical genealogy is an EXCELLENT idea and incentive for any genealogist. Unfortunately I had little data on health issues on the McCann side to report, but perhaps this group can assist in that. The testing is purely voluntary and at the expense of the testee. Some health insurances can be convinced to pay for some of the lower cost testing. (Less than $250 tests) otherwise it is a costly process.
