Austin apparently died before 1910 as Alice is in the 1910 Census having married for a second time to Andrew W. Piatt, apparently less than a year prior. With them are: Henry b.c. 1894, Julie b.c. 1897 and Sampson b.c. 1904. At the time of the 1900 Census Austin and Alice are living in Township 10, Choctow Nation Indian Territory. Austin's dob is reported as Feb 1858 in Indian Territory and also that his Father was born in Indian Territory and his Mother in Mississippi. A brother-in-law of Austin, named Van Hampton b. Oct. 1884 in Arkansa is living in their household. Austin may have had an earlier marriage. In the 1885 Census of Choctaw Indians, there is an Austin McCann age 27 with Mulsa McCann 24.
