IL. They are listed as "McCan" and indexed as "Mc Can." That space can make a difference! Frank is 35 b. Jan 1865 in IL, but everyone in his household is listed as b. IL so that's a wee bit suspect. Rose is listed as b. Feb 1867; Ethel, Nov 1886; "Deltha," Jan 1890; Edna, Apr 1892; and Ezra, Sep 1894[?]. At the time of the 1880 Census of Fulton Co. IL, Frank McCan 15 and Wm McCan 22 are listed as brothers-in-law of a Parks Dare 50 whose wife is Polly age 40. The Father of Polly, Wm, and Frank was reportedly born in TN. At the time of the 1850 Census of Fulton Co., IL, there is a William McCan age 38 Farmer b. MO [?] with wife Harriet 33, dau. Polly 9, and slso Sarah, James, and Malicia.
