Hi, Folks, Today Brian JOHNS shared with the Greene Co., PA list a query about the burial location of George JOHN b. 1754 and his wife Dorothy WELLS who had been married in Cumberland Co., PA. circa 1778-1779. Brian also mentioned that he was interested in any other JOHNs data anyone might have. He shared the url for his website suggesting that we check that first. http://johnsfamilytree.tripod.com/ I have some JOHNS data so I went to his website and immediately spotted this Elizabeth McCANN b. 1787 who married around 1805-1806 David JOHNS b. 1784 in Greene Co., PA. Having helped a fellow McCann researcher locate the original copies of early Greene County , PA tax records, I have some notes on the McCanns in Whitely Twp., Greene County from 1806-1819. There were: James and Wm., and then Thomas and finally a George. And, the 1800 census may hold a clue, too. In 1800, there was a James McCann 26-45 in Whitely Twp., Greene Co., PA with a daughter aged 10-15. That James may be the father of this Elizabeth b. 1787. Has anyone else identified who this Elizabeth might be? Oh, and I have invited Brian to join us but have not heard back from him yet.
