Hi, Folks, Recently had someone inquire about conflicting information concerning the parentage of a James McCann b. 1888 in Fayette Co., PA. He had been listed by two different individuals with two different sets of parents. So, I did a bit of census sleuthing and found this James b. 1888 in the 1900 census listed as age 11 and "son" of James McCann b. 1846 [reported that year as 1847] and his wife "Francis" [Frances Durr] b. 1848. For the record, this information appears for dwelling #202-202, E.D. 42, Nicholson Twp., Fayette Co., page 10A, which appears as image 19 of 20 in the Ancestry.com images. James and Frances had reportedly been married for 31 years, having had nine children of which six had survived. That latter information suggests that there were two children in addition to the seven I've seen listed. And, it suggests that "Anna" who is missing from the family in 1900 had actually died, too. The children listed with James and Frances are shown as: Jacob D son b. Aug 1876 age 23 Emma J. dau b June 1881 age 18 John W son b Feb 1885 age 15 James M [sic] son b.
