I had a search for my McCann Family done by the ARMAGH ANCESTRY, It was all postiive. Some info;UPPER KILLEAVY CATHOLIC PARISH Peter McCann and Margaret McCann were married on teh 2/13/1838 Witnesses Felix Loughran & John Hanlon BAPTISM of CHILDREN Thomas McCann 8/09/1839 Patrick 2/09/1842 Anne 4'14'1844 Michl 0/22/1846 James 5'18/1849 Some of the names of the Sponsors: James and Mary McKey,Michl McCann and Ann Loughran, Stephen McCann and Susan McSherry, Michl Magenity and Rose McKey and Terence Loughnam and Elizabeth Loughran. I would imagine that Stephen McCann was a brother to Peter and was the first one to come and buy the land from the Government, Also that Michael was also a brother . Does anyone relate to anyone of these names ?. They are from the county Armagh and the Parish of Seafin and Clonium, which they list as part of Killevy and Jonesborough Parishes. If anyone has Irish relatives from that Armagh, the search is very minimal. You can imagine how excited I was to get this info, Ann T. Meyer (Nee Ann McCann)

Could you please share with us a bit more about this organization, how you contacted them, and a bit about their fee schedule? I think that would be appropriate as most McCanns were supposedly in Armagh at an early date. Best regards, Jane
Jane: I had heard of the Armagh Ancestry at the time I had written to Ireland quite some time ago. Finally got the E-Mail addtess from the Roots site, This is from the Church records only. You had to give some indication that your Ancestors were from there before they would offer to search. I asked for the Marriage record of Peter and Margaret McCann, Also the Baptism records for the five children born to them in Ireland, The fee that they quoted was $10,00 for the Marriage record, $15.00 for the Baptism records plus $2.00 I imagine that was for postage. You pay in advance by credit card. Much to my surprise, when I recieved the info it was only $27,00 complete. I thought they would charge $15.00 for each Baptism. I will give you the E-Mail Address,The lady that I was in touch with was Mrs. Barbara Murray, Principal Genealogical Researcher. ARMAGH ANCESTRY 38 A English Street ARMAGH NORTHERN IRELAND BT61 7BA I don't think anyone wants the Phone Number or Fax number. E-Mail Address: [email protected] I can't tell you all how thrilled I was that all the searches were positive. Now all I have to do is find out what happened to them in theUnited States. On Three records, My Grandfathers Marriage, His Death Record and the Marriage record, of Peter and Margaret, the name of my Great Grand Mother is Margaret McCann, so it seems that I relate on both sides of my McCann family Ancestors. I hope this will help some in your family search, Ann T.
