Hi" When I first joined this site, someone made the remark that she related to the McCanns, Two ways. I also do, My Great Grand Father was Peter McCann, My Great Grand Mother was Margaret McCann, (That was her maiden name) Also one person was especially interested in the name of Stephen McCann, I also belileve that Stephen McCAnn was old enough to be a Baptism sponser in 1842 in Ireland, also Michael McCann to be a Sponsor for Baptism in 1839. I mention Stephen McCann, as I believe him to be a brother of Peter McCann. and the first McCann to own the McCann farm. Stephen first bought this farm in 1857 FROM THE GOVERNMENT, AT THAT TIME IT WAS IN ADAMS COUNTY, WISCONSIN.By 1864 Stephen McCann had moved to the town of Gordon, State of Kansas, The Farm then went to James McCAnn. The way I figure this out is that: Stephen and James are the brothers of Peter and came ahead and purchased the land. Can anyone relate to this family? Ann T. Meyer (Nee Ann McCann)
