Hi Ann, I am the one who is interested in Stephen as it is an unsual McCann name. I have a Peter and Stephen MCCann who were either brothers or cousins on the same large farm in County Tyrone. Of course they had a James also and a william and an Owen. An Arthur was nearby. The name Stephen has disappeared from the McCann clan in that area of Tyrone. I believe the son or grandson of Stephen either died chidless or emigrated. Our names are so similar yet yours are from Armagh or Derry as I recall...mine are certainly from Fallgherin, Ballygawley and Lurganboy in Tyrone---Armagh Diocese. Thye go back to 1769. The last Stephen I can find in records there is about 1833. I will be gone for a couple of days. "Talk" to you when I get back.
