I have been a "McCann" list member for about two years. I have a question I'm hoping will be answer for myself and maybe others. Most of the McCann family information seem to be from or about the Northern McCann's. "I'm a southern McCann". Are the North and South McCann's related in anyway? How did my McCann family end up in the south? Does anyone have any information on the Southern McCann's? Is anyone related to the southern McCann's? This is my McCann family beginning. Jordan McCann was born 1816 in Georgia, and died in 1885 in Miller County, Georgia. I believe his father was Hugh MaCann. Jordan married Lavina Gainus in 1843 in Burke County, Georgia. She was born 1820 in Georgia, and died in 1877 in Miller County, Georgia. Children of Jordan McCann and Lavina Gainus are: Frances Elizabeth McCann, married Neil Ard in Georgia Lemuel McCann, married Dora Allen in Georgia, He died in TX., 1913 Amanda Melvina McCann, married John Wilson Ard in Georgia Joshua McCann born 1849, Burke County, Georgia. He married Margaret Elizabeth Ard in Miller County, Georgia. Elizabeth Ann McCann born 1852, Burke County, Georgia Susan Mary McCann born 1855, Burke County, Georgia I would like to be able to share information with "Southern McCann's". Thank you, Beth
