Bernard McCann's father Walter McCann was born in 1820. A place called Campas Hill, Armagh. (his sister's daughter in her upper 50's wrote it down as Campas Hill, Armah) I used to know someone in Ireland and she talked to a Priest from Armagh and he said it is spellt Campas Hill, Armagh and it did exsist at one point of time. Walter McCann married Mary Brogan. born 1820 Drunshambo, Leitrim. I went there in the 1990's but the Society there does not have any records because of the firs that occured over there. Walter McCanns parrents James McCann and Mother Ellen Forbes. Mary Brogan parrents Bernard Brogan and Catherine Degnan. Walter and Mary had 5 children. First they lived in NY, then they moved to Mass., then back to NY., It was the children who moved to Mass., and Wisconsin. (there was a story that the parents died and the children were put on that adoption train) but I have found Mary still living around that time and Walter was a Butcher. He even signed Bernards Wedding book. Walter McCann lived in Iowa and died in St. Louis, Misouri. Bernard McCann Family lived in Michagan and settled in Minnesota. The rest of the sibblings settled in NY and Wisconsin. I grew up in Wisconsin but now reside in South Bay. Thank you for the email, I will try this next. Maybe Ann Meyer has additional information that I have missed. Hopefully someday someone reads this post and emails us with the information we have been waiting for. Thank you again!
