Hi: I know many on this site are related to the McCAnns of Monroe County Wisconsin, Also the Rices. I sent a letter to BILL RICE many months ago, and much to my surprise he called me by phone today, I'm still not sure if I relate to the McCanns from there or not. My GrandParents , John Charles McCann and Bridget Heaney were married in St. Marys Ridge , Jefferson, Wisconsin, Monroe County. This is near Wilton. Many of the names are the same, but not sure. I know that Jeanne Smith is related to this family and for sure others. Bill has the family Bible with info in it, Anyone searching this family should get in touch with him. They have a BED & BREAKFAST, named THE WHISPERING PINES, I'm sure he'd be happy to see any McCanns, whether they relate or not, The IRISH are all such FRIENDLY people. I"m proud to be one and to be a MCCANN. Ann T. Meyer (Nee Ann McCann)
After help in locating the Ship that some of my ancestors came to the US on, Would like to hear from anyone that has ancestors coming over on the same ship: Margaret McCann arrived with her children on the ship "GARRICK" To the Port of New York, Feb 28, 1853, The following siblings were with her: Thomas 12 yrs old Patrick 10 yrs old Ann 9 yrs old Michael 6 yrs old. They also list Jane Female age 3yrs old. On the 1860 Census, no Jane is listed, instead we have a James McCann. Wish we knew if we're looking for a Jane or a James, Any help would be appreciated. I am sending for the 1855 Boston Census , in hopes that I will discover something. If anyone relates to this family, please respond, Ann T. Meyer (Nee Ann McCann)
Do any of the McCanns' relate to James and Katherine Baker? They lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota I believe she was a cousin of my Dad, Wilber James McCann. They called her "KITTY"? If so, please get in touch to exchange info. Ann T. Meyer (Nee Ann McCann0
Hi, Folks, At least a year or two ago, someone was inquiring about George McCanns in Ohio. Finally, my brother (who is a McCann), asked a Springfield County, OH George McCann about his ancestry. We had heard that this line of Georges went back eight generations. Supposedly it does, having ended with a Geo. R. b. in the 1940's. His father is Geo.M. who was born in the 1920's. Both were born in OH. The father of Geo. M. was George Washington McCann, Jr. who was b. 1884 in Springfield, Clark Co., OH. George Washington McCann, Sr. was b. 1837 somewhere in the SW corner of OH, near Cincinnati. The father of G.W. Sr. was George Brown McCann b. 1799 in PA. I tried to locate some information on these Ohio Georges today and couldn't find them anywhere. Did find some others, in other places and I'll write about them next. Best regards, Jane
