I seem to have an Angel out there by the name of JOHN, Every time I put out a plea for information, He somehow comes with something, Someone that goes the extra mile, This time he found Michael McCann, who I believe to to one of my Ancestors. On the 1880 Census he found: Michael McCann Age 35 born in Ireland, Parents both born in Ireland Married to Margaret McCann 34 Born in Ireland both parents born in Ireland They wewre found in Waterloo, Wisconsin. Grant County Children Maurice 8 born in Wisconsin Samiel 7 Born in Wisconsin Catharine Born in Wisconsin age 2 Joseph age 2 born in Wisconsin These were the spellings on the Census Michael was a farmer. The ages etc match that of our Michael. Anyone out there relate to this family? If so , please get in touch to exchange info. Ann T, Meyer (Nee Ann McCann)
My ggrandmother was Mary Alice McCann Troutman Rushing b. October 3, 1860, in Georgia d. September 9, 1943, in Houston County, Texas. I have found Mary Alice and her family on the 1870 Randolph County, Georgia Census and the 1880 Leake County, Mississippi Census. In the 1870 Georgia Census her parents and siblings are listed as: James McCan age 37 b. Ga. Rebecca McCan age 36 b. Ga. John age 16 b. Ga. Sarah age 12 b. Ga. Allice 10 b. Ga. William age 8 b. Ga. Owen age 5 b. Ga. Also in the household was Sarah Smith who was probably Rebecca's mother. Mary Alice was married before the 1880 Leake County, Mississippi Census to Joseph Marshall Troutman. They are listed along with their first child Oscar. After Joseph Marshall Troutman died she married John R. Rushing and in the 1890's moved to Houston County, Texas. Also on the 1880 Leake County Mississippi census is J. C. McCan age 47 b. in Ga. Children listed are Sarah age 23 b. Ga. and Owen age 13 b. Ga. Children born since the 1870 Ga. census are Charley age 9 born in Ga. and Thomas age 8 born in Ga. On the 1880 census James or J. C's wife is now listed as Jane age 42 and born in South Carolina. Perhaps Rebecca died. Does anyone have any information on this McCan or McCann family? I would like to know about the family members and where they eventually located.

Hi all: I didn't want to give the impression that I relate to these families. Had been in touch with them and they seemed very nice and friendly people. Just wish they were my Kin, Ann T. Meyer (Nee Ann McCann)
They came from Armagh Ireland, At least my Great Grandmother did, So figure he did also. He came over in 1850 and worked as an indentured Alien. She came over with 5 children, in 1853 Don't know for sure if these were hers or not, Could be siblings . Her name was Margaret, They first went to Massachuetts where at least two more Children were born. One was Margaret Ann, I did find that. There was a Stephen McCann that first bought the farm where they settled, He bought it from the Government They was also a James McCann and a Thomas that finally had this farm. It was in Adams County ,Wisconsin, which later became Juneau County. The town was Mauston, but the township was Plymouth, Near Elroy, Wisconsin. I won't go any further unless you relate to this family. If any of this sounds familiar, get in touch again, Ann ----- Original Message ----- From: Bernie Albert <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, July 16, 2002 7:11 AM Subject: Re: [McCANN] PETER MCCANN > Ann, where is you McCann's from and where did they settle. > > > Bernie > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: amccann74 > Sent: Tuesday, July 16, 2002 1:16 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [McCANN] PETER MCCANN > > I think I can help you., but this is not my Family.
