    3. Hi, Folks, A fellow Fayette Co., PA researcher has found a John McCann in the 1930 census for Fayette. I cannot identify him as one of my direct line, but I suspect that he is, instead, a son of Michael McCann who emigrated to the U.S. in 1858 from County Caven, Ireland. I'll include what I've found on this family after the email I'm forwarding to you. Mary is an absolute dead end. We have her pictures and know she died a widow in Baltimore prior to 1940. Her husband Edward died in 1918 at the age of 48 so we suspect she was born after 1870. She had five children; Anna Mary (1890-1894); Carrie L. (1892-1977, wife of Ernest Franklin); William Franklin Evans (1893-?); George J. Evans (1897->1945); Nevin Paul Evans (1898->1945); and Ruth Jessie (1905-1988, wife of George Thomas Pretty, Sr. and mother of 12 children, Mary's only grandchildren). All of Edward and Mary's children and grandchildren lived in Baltimore and Baltimore County, MD until after 1950. Help us find Mary's Irish roots, please...

    3. Bernie: At this point, I don't think we know exactly where they came from. We do know that our Great Grand Mother came from Armagh as reported on a short Obit in the Mauston paper. After 1870, We just know what happened except to three for sure, They did live in Minneapolis, Wisconsin, , St. Cloud and Hastings. Altho my Dad told me they did not relate to Peter living there. After alll these years it's hard to find all the info. Some in our family did say that Peter came from County Cork The boys born in Ireland were Patrick, Michael, and Thomas, We think. We also have a James, he could also have been born in Ireland.
