When you subscribe or unsubscribe, you send your email to: [email protected] or to [email protected], depending on the version to which you are subscribed. However, when you send an email to the list, you send it to: [email protected] without the "-request." It was that second address which Ann wanted in her address book. She knew how to put the address in her address book once she received an email with that return addy Actually, the one she sent to the list, should have been sufficient when she received it back again. But, it seemed nicer to do as she requested. I hope others understand. These addressing conventions of RootsWeb seem a bit awkward at times, but they've been used for quite a long time and I suppose are really set in concrete at this point. Best regards, Jane
Tracy, I have information on a James McCann who married a Mary Ann Hayes in Illinois. for further information e-mail me [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, September 24, 2002 9:25 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [McCANN] McCann/Hayes Mary Kay, I have to go back through files, but I was told that we might connect. My grandfather was John Carl McCann born August 21, 1889. One of the few clues that I have so far is that his mother's maiden name was Hayes. I am not sure if he was born in TN or IL. He married Audestia Emma Boatman in Hannibal, MO. Some of their sixteen children were born in IL. I know that they had relatives in the Grainger County, TN area. They moved to Corpus Christi, TX where they lived until his death in 1871. I was hoping that you might have the children of your Hayes/McCann connection. Hi Jane: I had a VIRUS and my computor crashed. I lost my address book and don't know how to put the address back into my machine without a name. Would you please send me one E-Mail with Just the [email protected] and it should enter my address book as such, Then I would delete your name from this one, I don't think that it should have anything to do with my being a subscriber. I had to re-Boot my whole system. Thanks Jane, I don't know any other way to do this. Ann T. Meyer (Nee Ann McCann)

Tracy, I'm not sure if we have a connection or not. I don't have any Hayes in my McCann line that I know of. My grandmother was Catherine McCann born in 1879 in Joliet, IL. Her parents were Edward and Nellie McCann. I don't know Nellie's maiden name, or if Nellie is her real first name. I only know that Catherine had one brother, Pat or Patrick for sure. There are probably more siblings, but haven't found any yet. Let me know if you see a connection, Mary Kay > Mary Kay, > I have to go back through files, but I was told that we might connect.
