Another researcher has sent me info that the ORIGINAL MURHTOUGH MCABOY was brought to CALVERT CO MD in the late 1600's as a prisoner who was transported from SCOTLAND. MMMM..... I am really curious. Maybe no connection, but MURTHOUGH and MURTHY are definitely MOST SIMILAR to MARTIN and MARTY and my grandpa's brother was named JOSEPH MURPHY MCVOY and my grandpa's sister named her son JOSEPH MURPHY, who was listed on the CALVERT CO MD census in the early 1900's as MURTHY TUCKER.
