Ron, Thanks for posting this, I have it and have copied it for our files, but didn't think about doing it for the List. This is our GGGrandfather William H McBee, there is also a school named for him in Van Zandt Co., and he was one of the First County Commissioners of Kaufman Co.,TX; but lost the position when he made his home in Van Zandt Co, as his Land Grant was evenly divided by the County Line when it was drawn. The Grist Mill mentioned in the article was reported to have been the first in the County.
