Mrs. Rebecca McBee, nee Bealer, died at her home at Elm Springs on Nov. 12, 1908 at the advanced age of 80 years and 2 months. She was born in Granger county Tennessee, where she was married 65 years ago to Silas McBee and came to Missouri, Newton county, in 1851. There were born to her several children, f whom only the following are living: L.B. and J.G. McBee of Missouri and Malinda Davis of Texas. She left two brothers and one sister living -- John Bealer, Mrs. Ann Grimes and Uncle Bill Baler, as he is known to his friends. The latter is 93 yrs. old. Mrs. McBee was a member of the Baptist church for 60 years. She died of catarrhal fever and was laid to rest in the family cemetery at Elm Springs on the inst. Rev. Joe Walker preached the funeral and the interment was directed by Geo. Pogue, undertaker, of Stella. The ripened sheaves are being gathered home.
