Kuntz EMAIL: [email protected] DATE: Nov 04 1999 URL: http:// QRYTEXT: Herman McBee June 26, 1902 - October 31, 1999 Herman McBee, 97, of Monroe, Michigan, a retired machine tender, died at 6:10 a.m. Sunday at the Lutheran Home, where he had been for a year. He had been in poor health for 1 1/2 years. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Rupp Funeral Home. He will lie in state from noon Thursday until 1 p.m. services at Church of God Mountain Assembly. The Rev. Fred Cornelius and Rich Massingill will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle, Michigan. Born June 26, 1902, in Claiborne County, Tenn., he was the son of Oscar and Emily (Jennings) McBee. He married Nancy Stump June 11, 1922, in Tazewell, Tenn. She died March 18, 1996. For 45 years, he was employed by Union Camp, retiring in 1967. He had attended Church of God Mountain Assembly since 1928. Surviving are a son, Donald of Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. Marshall (Jewell) Yeary and Geneva Keck, both of Monroe, Michigan and Mrs. Coy (Wanda) Hayes of Jacksonville, Fla.; two half brothers, Ronald and Richard, both of Knoxville, Tenn.; a half sister, Mrs. Coy (Jewel) Brooks of Knoxville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Arlie; five brothers, Robert, Clarence, Edward, Clayton and Porter; three sisters, Alice Harmon, Maggie McBee and Nell Minton, and a grandson. Memorials may be made to the Church of God Mountain Assembly or the Lutheran Home in Monroe, Michigan.
