Found when looking for MCBOY'S 14 REG'T of MS MILITIA. (DIEGO and GUILLERMO MCBOY/MCVOY) --War of 1812: (fwd to list in hopes it may help someone.) Hi. I just stumbled over CLEMENT(S) from MD on a site about CLEMENTS from MD who went to MOBILE CO AL and fought in my family's volunteer 14th REG'T "MCBOY'S" MISSISSIPPI MILITIA, War of 1812: http://members.home.com/ajboyd/clDesc01.htm *I think that is a zero next to the 1.htm, if not, try the letter 0. BENJAMIN or JOHN CLEMENTS b.ca. 1774 MD or VA, lived in MOBILE CO AL. Listing of CLEMENTS svd in MCBOY'S 14TH MS MILITIA, WAR OF 1812. He had a brother named JOSHUA CLEMENTS. On War of 1812 it lists: CLEMENTS, UNKNOWN 1S NAME, PRIVATE, served in "MCBOY'S" 14th MS MILITIA.(With my ancestors DIEGO and his brother WILLIAM/GUILLERMO) BENJAMIN married ANNA "UNKNOWN" around 1800, possibly MARYLAND. ANNA was born abt. 1778 in MARYLAND and died around 1850-1860 (Mobile?) 1850 census Mobile Co AL with son ANDERSON listed as 72 years old. possibly on 1820 or 1830 census of PUTNAM CO GA??? Lists other sons or possibly Anna's husband's brothers: CLEMENTS: Henry W., Joshua, Benjamin His children were ANDERSON and JOSHUA. Hope this helps someone. I know my MCVOY'S *spelled in 1812 as MCBOY who were the "MCBOY'S" from the reg't name, have "some unknown" connection to MD. My great grandfather came to CALVERT CO MD in the mid 1800's before the Civil War. His name was MARTIN MCVOY, but I have found many records spelling our surname as MCBOY.
