Will of William Boyd, of Frederick Co, VA; wife Jean Boyd, plantation I bought of Richard Colbert; son William under 21, son John under 21, slave Sambo, tract of land bought of William Chenowith, bought of Richard Colbert, joining Capt. Seaton and Chenowith and the head of Cromley's land; daughters: Jean Marsh, Ann Boyd, Hanah Miller, son-in-law John Miller. Signed and witnessed 10 Oct 1771 by William Boyd, Alexander MCABOY, Robert Allen, James Covin, Gilbert McKown, John Sutton, Stephen Taylor. John Miller proved the will 20 May 1777 by oaths of Alexander James Colvin and John Fulton, bond with James Wilson his security. Estate inventory 8 Mar 1779 by M. Morgan, The'd Sharpe, Matthew Riffy. VARDRY McBee and Jane Alexander had: JOSEPH, MALINDA PENELOPE, SILAS L., LUTHER MARTIN, HANNAH ECHOLS, MARTHA ADALINE, VARDRY A., WILLIAM PINKNEY and ALEXANDER McBee.
