In my research on my McCandless Cherokee links I've run across these two names many times. In the past several folks have asked me if there was a McBee link to the Cherokee and I don't know of one but if there is it might come from the Hix/Hicks or Burgess/Burges lines. There are certainly no certainties there but possibilities that need research if anyone is interested in that issue.
