There is an Echols family history, written by Milner Echols about 1850, in which he tells about Vardre McBee whose wife was an Echols. Vardre had 2 sons, Silas and Vardre, and Milner describes one of them as 'a large man'. If anyone wants this Echols story, I can paste it into a message and send it. It is long, but worth reading for a laugh if not genealogy. Incidentally, parts of it that have been checked out are correct. If you are willing to type it out, I'm sure we would all love to see it. Many of us come through the Vardry-Echols line, or Vardry's siblings. You may want to post it to the board as a Biography, for wider readership. http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/board/rw/surnames.mcbee Valorie
