My Jessee MagBee/McBee, the son of Wm. McBee and Rebecca Branham, was born in TN about 1819. His second wife was named Saphronia and was with him in the 1870 census of Atascosa Co TX 1870 Census of Atascosa Co. TX 124 124 McBee, Jasper 52 m w Farmer AL (This was Jessee Saphronia 40 f w Keeping House MO Nancy F. 15 f w At Home AL James 10 m w TX Jennie 2 f w TX Lee, Isaac 20 m w Farm Laborer TX Jessee's first wife died, perhaps in AR after 1860 and he remarried, since Jennie is ten years old here I doubt that is his child but a step child. Nancy is Lucinda Poole McBee's child (first wife). One of Jessee and Lucinda's went to MO after the Civil War and farmed. He died in the Confederate Home at Higginsville, Lafayette Co., MO. They also lived in nearby Carroll County, MO. I'm wondering if Jessee might have met Saphronia there and remarried. Does anyone have access to the marriage records of those counties? Ron McCandless
