Hello fellow McBees, Looking for volunteers to do DNA testing of the male Y-chromosome. Volunteers must still carry the name of McBee and be males. I have organized a reduced rate ($99/$169) for the testing. Please see the web page for Family Tree DNA at the following address for an explanation of the process. The only requirement is that you are male with the McBee surname (Y-chromosome test only works on the unbroken male line). http://www.familytreedna.com/ This is for genealogy purposes only. If any of you are interested, please let me know. The negotiated rate for our group is $99 per 12 marker test ($169 per 24 marker). You can wait and just pay for the 12 marker test now and do an upgrade to the 24 marker test later but it will not be at the reduced rate of $169. No further testing will be necessary for the upgrade once you send in your swabs but they will request an additional $99 for the upgrade. So we encourage you to do the 24 marker while it is at the reduced rate of $169. The process is simple. I will submit your name and address, phone, email, method of payment (check/credit card), and number of markers for testing. The lab will then send you a packet of information and your kit for testing. The test is a simple swabbing of the inside of your cheek twice with a q-tip and depositing it in two viles provided in your kit. You will send the packet back in along with your payment and if you sign the form then your control number and results will be provided to me to include in the table.
