I'll try to note the documentaton as I go. I will be sending a copy of the documentation in a separate message. Henry Wilson (Willson) was born in Spartan Dist, SC on 7 Jun 1787, the son of William Willson (1747-1842) and wife Anne. Moved with family to Jackson Co., GA before 1823. Henry Wilson married Jensie (J.?) Walraven on 6 Jan 1823 Jackson Co., GA (Descendants of William Wilson Sr.). Henry, wife and children later settled in Cherokee Co. GA probably in that part which was later made into Murray Co. I've not done research on the deeds, etc to document when these moves took place. Jensie Walraven Wilson was born between 1800 and 1805 and died between 1834 and 1850, probably in Murray Co., GA. After her death Henry Wilson married second on 25 Aug 1851, Murray Co., GA to Elizabeth Dean. Henry Wilson died between 1863 and 1866 (Descendants of William Wilson Sr. and correspondence with other Wilson researchers). Place of burial for both Henry and Jensie not determined at this time. Henry Wilson served in the War of 1812, probable from SC. (Tennessee Civil War Veterans Questionnaire of Henry Wilson Jr. written in 1920). Children of Henry Wilson (1787-1863/6) 1. Pascal Wilson, b. 1823, killed in Civil War in 1862. Married 29 Dec 1840 Jackson Co., GA to Susan McBee. <snip> Edgar

    3. I found a mention of the Knights of Macabee on the Crawford Co. AR list, in a posting of the subjects in the 1912 newspaper Van Buren Press. This intrigued me, so I did a Google search, and came up with a roster of members in TN: http://www.rootsweb.com/~tncrocke/fampics/kotm/kotm4.html and a post on the NYFingerLakes-L http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/NYFingerLakes/2000-04/0955631399 The author said, "I believe it was an organization which paid accident and death benefits to its members. I wrote to their office in Southfield, Mich - their full name on the answering letterhead is THE MACCABEES International Fraternal Society." The post has a contact address for the collection of memorabilia that they donated to the Burton Historical Collection at the Detroit Public Library. I'm not clear that these are the same organization, or two different ones with similar names. Has anyone researched this? I'm wondering if the source was the Biblical Maccabees, or our MacAbee/McBees? Just following my nose, Valorie

    3. Beginning Monday 10 June 2002, RootsWeb will begin the complex and time-consuming process of upgrading servers to new hardware. NO MESSAGES ARE EXPECTED TO BE LOST, but the lists will be down for awhile when the move happens. Please don't post "why aren't I getting mail" during that time. You will get it all when the list servers come back up, and you don't want half of it to be everyone on the list asking why aren't they getting mail. :) If you have trouble reaching other Rootsweb servers this week, it's probably for the same reason; try again in an hour or two or three. If you have any questions about this, please send them to me personally at the -admin address, NOT to the list.
