Hi Jackie, Appreciate your response. I descend from Johanna McBee who married Robert Walters. Was just wondering if perhaps Wm's parents actually landed at Annapolis, MD or Baltimore? Other researchers have told me that Wm was b. in MD in 1704. Have you seen anything on this? jackie lindsey wrote: > Larry; I believe your William moved to Hanover County > VA. north of Richmond in 1758 the specific location > was Antrim Parish, VA. Larry; I believe your William moved to Hanover County VA. north of Richmond in 1758 the specific location was Antrim Parish, VA. He had sons three of whom drifted to South Carolina...Spartenburg/Greenville area (NWestern SC) His son Vardry is where my line starts. This is all I have. Great search engine for WAR OF 1812! It has my MCVOY family listed as MCBOY and they had a militia company named for them in MS. It was the 14th REGIMENT, MCBOY'S MISSISSIPPI MILITIA and both DIEGO MCVOY(MCBOY) and his brother GUILLERMO/WILLIAM MCVOY (MCBOY) served in the War of 1812 in this unit! The URL: http://www.sierra.com/sierrahome/familytree/records/w1812/list/1,2824,,00.html (didn't fit on one line so I don't know if it will work, but you can find it on Sierra Home's website.) Jackie, My 3rd Great Grandfather also was Lemuel McBee. He married Ellender (Frakes?). One of there children was Nancy E. McBee. She married John P. Chopper. My Lemuel is buried in Jones Co., Iowa. Is there a connection? Linda in Montana [email protected]
Rex; My ggggrandfather was the son of Lemuel McBee from Grainger Co.TN. Is this your line too? Are Lemuel and Samuel brothers? Have you ever read the book "Hitch Hiking Along The Holston River. A History of Strawberry Plains, Jefferson County, Tennessee 1792-1962" by Mayme Parrott Wood? There is mention of McBees which are my line. Just courious and not wanting to leave any roots buried. Larry: I have a Samuel McBee born 1772 in Pittsavnia County, VA and married Annie Hamilton and moved to the Mountains of Tennessee. At that time it was part of North Carolina. The county became Claiborne County Tennessee. They had their first son (William) in 1798 and my line comes out of Issac McBee who was the second son to Samuel. I use Family tree maker, which soft ware program do you use? Talk to you soon. Rex and Julia McBee

Hi Rex, My Coats line goes like this: Scotland>SC>NC>TN(Lincoln Co. TN)>TX. As for my Hamiltons, they are a bit murkier and harder to trace, but it looks as though they came out of York Co. SC(maybe from Augusta Co. VA before that???). They also wound up in LCT and Giles Co. TN. Does any of this sound likely/familiar to you? - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Larry D. Hamilton Coats P.O. I'm not picking on Larry, here, I'm just trying to illustrate a search technique: "Larry D. Hamilton Coats" wrote: > > Tried that url for Danny McBees website and got an error, and I'm sure I > entered it exactly as shown in your posting. Must be a problem somewhere > else? Jean <[email protected]> wrote: > Try > http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/m/c/b/Danny-A-Mcbee/index.html > for Danny's page And that does work. Originally, Gwen Boyer Bjorkman wrote: > > See Danny McBee's website at: > http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/m/c/b/Danny-A-Mcbee/GENE1-0001.html > > Gwen Boyer Bjorkman > [email protected] and that page ALSO works. I just tried it. I also tried the link from our Resource page, listed in Rootslinks, and that ALSO works. This is a little hint, picked up from a few years online. If you can click the link, just click it. That is the least complicated. If that doesn't work, *copy* the address, and *paste* it into your browser. That way, you never mis-type ones (1) and ells (l), zeros (0) and ohs (O). Please write me privately if you don't know how to "copy" and "paste" with your emailer. If It Still Doesn't Work: Someone tried to hand type the URL, instead of copy/paste it! They may have misspelled the http://www part -- just fix it, and try again. There may be something extra that doesn't look right on the end.......get rid of it. Or, just "back up" to the next major 'stopping point' in the address -- for instance, try getting rid of everything after the "Danny-A-McBee/" part of the address. That works, too! <http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/m/c/b/Danny-A-Mcbee/> In fact, if you back up all the way to <http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/> -- IT STILL WORKS! You just have to select from: Adelaide-W-Mcbride Allan-Mcbey Althea-G-Mcbean Amy-E-Mcbride-martin Anthony-P-Mcbride Betty-A-Mcbride Betty-C-Mcbroom Billy-R-McBay Brenda-J-Mcbeath Brian-C-McBee Carl-B-Mcbrayer Casey-A-Mcbrian Cathy-H-McBride Corey-M-Mcburney Craig-R-Mcbride Dann-C-Mcbryan Danny-A-Mcbee David-J-Mcbeth Deborah-J-Mcbride Delbert--G-Mcbride Dina-C-Mcbride Dina-R-Mcbride Donald-E-Mcbride Donald-K-Mcbride Donna-M-Mcbrien Emily--J-Mcblair Evelyn-E-Mcbride Gerald-N-Mcbeth Gordon-L-McBean Grant-B-McBride Grant-mcbride-B-Mcbride Gwen--Mcbride Jade-N-Mcbride James-A-Mcbride Janet-D-Mcbroom Jeffrey-E-Mcbride Jennifer-F-Mcbride Jennifer-H-Mcbee Jennifer-L-Mcbride Jo-A-Mcbride John-J-Mcburney John-R-McBride John-T-Mcburney Jonathan--D-Mcbride Judy-A-Mc-bride Karen-I-Mcbain Kathy-S-Mcbride Kelly--J-Mcbartlett Kenneth-D-Mcbride Kerry-L-Mcbryde Kevin-J-Mcbride Leland-Mcbride Lisse-D-McBride M-L-Mcbride Mark-D-Mcbroom Mary-S-Mcbride Michael-E-Mcbride Michael-E-Mcbride-North-Carolina Mikki-or-cici-Mcbride-or-morse Ralph-D-Mcbroom Ralph-H-Mcbride Rebecca-Mcbeath Rhonda--E-Mcbride Richard-A-Mcbane Robert-L-Mcbride Robert-L-Mcbride-Ca Robert-R-Mcbride Roger-A-McBeth Ronald-L-Mcbride Rose-A-Mcbreairty Roxie-M-Mcbroom Roxie-Mae-Mcbroom Russell-J-Mcbride SUB-User Sam-E-Mcbride Samuel-R-Mc-broom Sandra-Gail-Mcbridescott Sandy-L-Mcbeth Sandy-Lee-Mcbeth Stanley-E-Mcbride Subscription-User Tabitha-D-Mcbee Terry-D-Mcburney-ii Tommie-S-Mcbrayer William--A-Mcbride William-R-Mcbride And some of those look potentially useful, don't they!
