I think this unit was mustered from NE AR (Pocahontas, AR) which is the other side of the state from my bunch but I'd like to make certain I know who they were. COMPANY K 14TH (McCARVER'S) ARKANSAS INFANTRY REGIMENT CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA McBEE, J. Pvt REFERENCE: 21st AR Inf. McBEE, W. P. Pvt REFERENCE: 21st AR Inf.

Again, this unit was mustered in Clarksville, Johnson Co AR and that leads me to believe that this was either the James or the John McBee listed in the census of 1860 in the Horsehead Twnshp home of Jessee McBee. The two boys were both 16 years of age in that census and John was his son but James was listed after the rest of the children and for that reason I suspect he was a cousin living or visiting there. No idea which one this was but looking for clues while waiting for the Combined Service Records come in from NARA. 10th Regiment Arkansas Militia Company K This company mustered at Clarksville, Arkansas, from February 22 to March 21, 1862, with 76 men present. Captain Lynas Armstrong was in command during this muster. Most of these men later enlisted in regular Confederate regiments. McBee, J—Private.

Most of these men subsequently enlisted in regular Confederate regiments. McBee, W—Second Corporal. Since this unit mustered in Clarksville, Johnson Co. Hello All, May be going way out on a limb here; I am (almost convinced) that the Obediah McBee that married Catherine Fann in Green Co., TN in 1797 is our Obediah that died 1826 in Hardeman Co., TN. Also this same Obediah and Catherine (Fann) McBee are the parents of our William H McBee b. 1798-1805 in NC/KY/TN, d. 1852 in Van Zandt Co., TX. Also believe Catherine may have died somewhere between Green Co.,TN and Hardeman Co., TN and Obediah married a woman named "Elizabeth", as she is named as Obediah's wife in his NUNCUPATIVE WILL. Or her (middle/nickname was Elizabeth). Another assumption is that the 4 McBee women that married in Hardeman Co., TN (1825-1837) were probably Obediah's daughters. Hardeman Co. John Cochran was born August 28, 1798 in TN, died March 21 1867 In Prairie County, AR and buried at Cochran Cemetery. I have Margaret Born about 1801 in TN Mary Cochran was born July 17, 1820 in TN and died January 10 1878 in Prairie County AR. William McBee was born April 5, 1817 In AL and died January 10. 1878. both are buried in the Cochran Cemetery. Cochran Cemetery is in Prairie County Near the Lonoke County line. William and Mary Mcbee's cildren are George W., Margaret E., John Wilson, Martha, Mary, William Taylor, Sarah, Nancy, and Harriet. William Taylor McBee and John Wilson McBee went on to Texas in 1893.

Ron, this Jesse is the one born 1795 who I believe was a brother to my Elder Samuel MCBEE. This Jesse MCBEE (married Leah BEAN of the ubiquitous Marion Co. TN BEANs) moved to Benton(Calhoun) Co. AL where he died in 1840. His children, for the most part, moved to Cass/Cherokee Co. TX after their father's death. Children: Isham, b. abt 1817, md. Barbara BOOZER in Marion Co. Confusion is the rule, not the exception. If you're doing any measure of research I know from personal experience that confusion becomes a close personal friend. Karen, as you well know my Jessee is thought to be the son of William McBee who died in Jackson Co AL in 1839. That is primarily because Jessee and his family were in Paulding Co. GA where Wm. widow was in 1850 living very close BUT also because Jessee's children were born in Jackson Co. AL. though I have no direct proof of either the births OR the relationship to that Wm. Question--- Who is that Jesse in Marion Co. TN? As you may or may not know my McC line links back to Marion Co TN as early as 1801 so I can't help but think there may be a connection. Jessee's daughter married Alex McCandless who was born in Marion Co. TN. At a point in time didn't we discuss the possibility that Samuel could be a brother to my Wm.? Hi List; Strange coincidence, I ordered the CSA pension for a Jacob P McBee to see if he might belong to my family, well I found that he did not. Today I heard from another reseacher (not McBee) that had transcribed the names in the McBee Cemetery in Taylor County, TX, asking if they were my family, and he sent me the names. Well, guess what, they are for Jacob P. McBee and Family. BTW, no one has contacted me for the CSA pension that I offered on the List and it is still available.
