I am trying to find the towns in Ireland where my Grandfather and Grandmother came from. Here is what I've found or know. Garret Ruane from (possibly Kiltober). Immigrated 1907-1911. Born around 1874. Patrick Ruane (brother) Manifest at Ellis also states Kiltober as place of origin. Martin Ruane (brother) we believe he stayed in Ireland to help w/farm. Teresa McMahon married Garret in Elizabeth NJ. Lived their lives out there and are buried in Mount Olivet Cem. Newark NJ. Margaret McMahon married a Campbell. Patrick Ruane is buried in Calvary Cem. in the Bronx. Wife we believe was Catherine. We have received info. about a Garret and Patrick born in Castlerea,Roscommon. I have also rec'd a birth certificate for a Garret born in Rennenanny. We are sure there must be descendants left in Ireland. All of Garrets children, with the exception of my Mother are passed away. All the town records were destroyed in a fire and NJ State SS office has come up empty. It is impossible to locate them through immigration without a place of origin. There are three Garrets at Ellis Island. And many Patrick's. Garret passed away in 1947, Patrick in 1942, Teresa in 1949.
