    3. Your best bets are the church registers that have survived, the Griffith's Valuation, and family trees that have been posted on the web (at Ancestry.com among others). The North Mayo Heritage Center can provide transcriptions of the Church registers for a small fee. The Griffith's is here: http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/mayo/mayo.htm I also hired an Irish Genealogist who looked up quite a few records for me at the National Library in Dublin. He was a bit expensive at 60 Euros/hour (especially with the US exchange rate), but well worth it for the two hours work he did for me. I could not have gotten that information any other way easily.
