Thanks for your reply Mary - the problem is that there are conflicting dates on his documents - Death certificate - which would have been filled out by his daughter has date of birth as 1864 - marriage license which he would have completed has 1869 - his naturalization papers say that in 1893 he was "26 years of age, or thereabouts" - can you imagine??? - which gives us 1867 - They were married in 1899 at which time the Catholic Church did not record a baptism record which they do now - When I first got the 1864 date I got a Patrick Kearney in Castleisland - have a Baptism cert - but then I found this other confusion - I have family in Ballina and plan to visit them in Sept. - was hoping to find something by then.
