Subject: [IRL-MAYO-KILTIMAGH] Aiden Street Reunion Launch of Booklet Western People July 11, 2007 http://westernpeople.com/community/pdf/Kiltimagh,%20Bohola,%20Galway.pdf (photograph) AIDEN STREET REUNION THERE was a very successful launch of the Aiden Street Journal by Michael Commins of Mid West Radio on Monday night, July 2, at which practically every house in the street was represented. Brian Mooney was Master of Ceremonies and entertained everyone with stories of earlier days in the street. The Reunion festivities start on Friday night, July 20 at 9 p.m. in the Cill Aodain Court Hotel with finger food followed by entertainment. >From 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday there will be a tour of the Museum and the opportunity to see Basil Burke’s slide show and Johnnie Kelly’s video of life in Kiltimagh since the 1920s. This will be followed at 3 p.m. with a walkabout, incorporating a hunt for hidden treasure, starting at the Market Square and at 5:30 p.m. there will be a special Mass for the street’s deceased in the Parish Church. Afterwards there will be an exhibition of photographs in the Cill Aodain Court Hotel. The Aiden Street Journal will be available for sale or alternatively from Mary McNicholas at the Kiltimagh Business Bureau, price €10. At 8 p.m. there will be an official welcome followed by buffet and party in the Cill Aodain Court Hotel. Tickets for the reunion, which cover the food and entertainment on both nights, are €35, otherwise the price for the Friday night alone is €10. It is essential to book tickets as soon as possible as the Hotel will need to know the number attending. It is hoped the reunion will be well supported and all associated with organising it are confident that it will be a really great success. -------------------------------
