    3. Just for info, there is a large McHale family in Kilmaine, south of Ballinrobe who are cousins to my wife who was BURKE from Frenchbrook, Kilmaine. The McHale founded and run a sucessful farm equipment company based in Kilmaine. See website - http://www.mchalefm.ie/ They may be distant relatives. Pat Walsh - Reading UK. 3. Yes Jean, a connection is very likely but - sorry - I have nothing that might confirm it. McHales were pretty thick on the ground both sides of Lough Conn, so it seems, and I dare say they were all related somewhere back in the past. Best regards and good luck. 3. Hallo again. About all I have that isn't on the original posting is that the Francis who emigrated to NZ in 1866 married Julia O'Leary (Fieries, Co. Kerry) in Blenheim in 1877. They had five daughters and two sons, Owen and Francis of course. Francis, known as Frank and Sonny, shot and killed Owen in a hunting accident in 1908, then served in World War 1 from August, 1914, to September, 1918. Cheers and good luck.
