    1. [MAYO] Word of warning on the Ancestry Query Boards
    2. Word of Warning on the Query boards. IF you have ever posted on any query board with Rootsweb and IF you have ever purchased from Ancestry.com, your full name, not your email address or the name you choose to use on the web, is now attached to every post you ever made. This is a problem if you prefer to have a low profile on the web. There are many women and seniors out there who prefer to keep their last names confidential. You can fix this problem by going to the profile section of any query board and changing the information yourself. However, not everyone knows that this option is out there and in some cases people never return to look at the board. In that case they will never know that their full names (as used on your credit card) are out there attached to all that family information. I've written to Rootsweb/Ancestry asking them to change this function by using the persons email address but they've simply ignored me. So if you aren't happy with having your full name attached to your queries, make sure you go to the "new profile function" and change it.
