Can someone please help me. I am researching the names of Murphy and Greer. I have found that the Murphy name has a few different ways of how you spell it. I have found a Coat of Arms for that name also. Why can I not find one for the Greer name? Is their also different ways of spelling it? Is there a Coat of Arms for that name also? Is there a certain area of Ireland where the people with these names come from? Thanks for any help. Eliz in NY
Hi... According to Mullins of Dublin's Heraldic Scroll, the Greer crest (in English, not "heraldic") is: A blue shield with a left-facing gold lion centered; gold crowns on the upper right and centered bottom; and, a tree on a white field on the upper left. You can likely see this same scroll at most Irish gift shops. -Mike ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, April 13, 2002 8:37 PM Subject: [MAYO] Question about Greer > Can someone please help me. > I am researching the names of Murphy and Greer.
