Hi all: I am also looking for a connection to the GALLAGHERS. My gggrandmother was Sarah GALLAGHER, married in Irelandto Michael MALONEY. Their eldest son Patrick was born Dec 22, 1847 in County Mayo, Ireland. Second son John was born in New York in 1851. Other children were Ellen, Sarah, Rose and Michael. By 1860 they were in Wisconsin, perhaps in the Rockford area and eventually in Erin Prairie, St. Croix County. Michael is buried there, died 1882; (his tombstone says born Mayo Ireland), but there is no sign of Sarah. There are no death certificates and the burial records were lost in a church fire. I don't know how to get them back to a town land or parish in Ireland. When I try to match Gallagher with Maloney in Griffiths there are only a couple, but when you add in all the various spellings for Maloney, the list grows. Can I trust that MALONEY is what I should be looking for? Bev
