This message is for Gail who was asking why an old photo (1868) identified a location in Co Mayo but today it is listed in Roscommon. One explanation could be that c1900 the boundries between Co Mayo and Co Roscommon were redrawn so that certain locations without moving shifted counties. There are probably others on the list who could point you to web sites that would specify where the shifts took place. John McNicholas
