I have some in my family through marriage.Does the Town of bathgate seem relevant? James Forrester shows up for the first time around 1880 in New York ship arrivals. He married my gggrandmother (Marcella Manning/Mannion/Mangan) in 1886 in Scranton Penna. All of the 3 or 4 pieces of paper I have on him - His wedding license application, his naturalization, his ships arrival info state "Ireland". No clue where or when. His Father is Bartley (which I believe is a variant of Bartholomew but not positive) and his mother is Ann. The person who sponsered or vouched for him on his naturalization filing is a cousin (last name Canavan) to his future/present wife and I have sketchy info on that line too but more info volume-wise (not that it's any less shaky- just that I have more of it.). James died in 1897 and was buried in Wilmington Delaware. So far, I don't have a death certificate but the family lore says died of pneumonia and his wife delivered their 5th daughter a few days later. His daughter Elizabeth Forrester is my great grandmother. Marcella Manning/Mannion, I have much more info on and her family was apparently not to shabby. But that's a whole other story. LOL (and like I said, still shaky info....) 3. For anyone having problems posting to the list: If you have set your e-mail program up so that outgoing mail (or at least mail to RootsWeb lists) is in plain text, and you're subscribed to the list, your mail should reach the list. The majority of bounce messages that I get are because of mail being sent to the list in MIME/multipart, rather than MIME/plain text. The next biggest cause is folks including the entire digest in their post, making the message too big to send to the list. Third, is mail from folks not subscribed (perhaps they bounced off). If you are sure you are subbed, your mail is being sent out as plain text and your message isn't humongous, but it's still not reaching the list, try posting to the list and CC me at my private address. That will give me at least one copy of your message to look at and possibly enough info to help me figure out the problem. Best wishes, Lynne list admin.
