    3. Hi Listers and Richard : Does anyone have a line of Maynard from the saouth that they are researching ? I am looking for information on a Maynard family in Tennessee during the 1800's. The earliest name I have is Vincent Maynard born 1818 and his wife Elizabeth Henderson Maynard of White county. One of their children was Levi Preston Maynard. I am interested in the parents and sibs of Vincent Maynard. I am also interest in the siblings of Levi. His son Stephen had a son named Coley. Coley moved to Schoharie County, NY sometime after Stephen died at an early age. The records I have show that my Thomas settled in Dutchess County rather than Westchester county. An entry in the the LDS Ancestral file says that Coley was born 27 May 1789 in Bedford, Westchester County. (The Biographical Review of the Families of Delaware County give the same birth date for Coley.) This may not seem all that contradictory when you realize that Putnam County - now separating Dutchess and Westchester Counties - was part of Dutchess County then. Thomas may have settled in the lower part of that larger Dutchess County just north of Westchester. Anyway, I'm keeping your email in my files in case I ever find further information on the parents of my Thomas Maynard. I'll contact you to pass on whatever I might find. I hope you will do the same. 3. Hi, Kathi, Nope, I have no Southern Maynards. Mine seem to have stayed in New York the whole time. My father's given name was Maynard so named after his mother's maiden name. I see you were once a Maynard so each of us has Maynards near to our generation. Good luck in your search. By the way, I've been on the Maynard list for quite a while and the note I replied to a few days ago was my first "hit" on the list. There seem to be lots and lots of Maynards out there!
