Isaiah Maynard,b/1728 d/1816 m/Miriam Budd. Both buried in Milton Rye Grounds. Patriot during Revolution, from Harrison Purchase (DAR). Pick up first in 1740s as witness to various wills. On 1790 census, Harrison Purchase. Supposed to have had two brothers, Thomas and John. THey are listed in Bedford. Thomas might have been his father; he is mentioned in HIstory of Bedford but died before the census. Isaiah needs to have been born somewhere with 2 parents. Anyone have any ideas? 3. Nancy, I really wish I could help because I believe this Isaiah's brother Thomas was my g(4x)-grandfather. His son Stephen had a son named Coley. Coley moved to Schoharie County, NY sometime after Stephen died at an early age. The records I have show that my Thomas settled in Dutchess County rather than Westchester county. An entry in the the LDS Ancestral file says that Coley was born 27 May 1789 in Bedford, Westchester County. (The Biographical Review of the Families of Delaware County give the same birth date for Coley.) This may not seem all that contradictory when you realize that Putnam County - now separating Dutchess and Westchester Counties - was part of Dutchess County then. Thomas may have settled in the lower part of that larger Dutchess County just north of Westchester. Anyway, I'm keeping your email in my files in case I ever find further information on the parents of my Thomas Maynard. I'll contact you to pass on whatever I might find. I hope you will do the same.
