Am looking for information that might establish the ancestry of Caroline MAINARD (MAYNARD) who married William C. PATTERSON, February 17, 1833 in Surry County, NC. Our family thinks William C. PATTERSON came from VA and Caroline may have come from VA too, but have no proof. Also, William and Caroline appeared to have lived in TN during the 1840 census since they were not on the 1840 Surry County census, but were on the 1850 Surry County census and had 3 of their children listed as having been born in TN.
