My grandparents lived in Sag Harbor and so I spent a lot of time there when I was younger and still remember the jawbone of a whale that spans the threshold to the Whaling Museum...impressive! Probably not the port from which the Cape Cod whalers departed, but perhaps they stopped there. In its day, it was a major whaling center, helping as well to inspire the likes of Herman Melville in his writing of Moby Dick.
