I make reference to my12/10/02 posting on this subject. I have since located the death record of George STURTEVANT, dated 4 April 1865. I found it in Pembroke (where I ought to have looked first! ). It names both of his parents and confirms his birth date as 1809 as I had already suspected from a monument inscription. He was 55 years, 1 month and 20 days old at time of death. His parents are shown as Ichabod STURTEVANTE (sic.), born in Halifax, and Ruth GARDINER, born in Pembroke. In checking the VRs volumes I find that Ichabod was born in December 1771 (Pembroke VRs, p. 198). He married Ruth Gardiner 3 April 1803. A Pembroke tombstone birth record (G.R.-1) reads "Ichabod (h. Ruth)(December --- 1771). In an attempt to determine the next generation back I found another Ichabod STURTEVANT. He is shown in the Plympton VRs as a son of Noah STURTEVANT and Suseanna HARLOW, but his birthdate is not given. Based on interpolation he would probably have been born ca. 1750 as the fourth child of Noah (b. 7 Oct 1717, Plympton VRs, p. 206) and Suseanna whom he married 22 Nov 1744. I thought the list would like to know the status of this research. Though the FULLER and HOWLAND lines are out for now, I am very interested in proving the STURTEVANT line and research continues. Any comments on the recent findings would be most welcome. Len
