    3. According to "Some of the Descendants of William Chase or Roxbury and Yarmouth, Mass." compiled by George Walter Chamberlain, M.S., for John Carroll Chase and published in Genealogies of Rhode Island Families - From the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Volume I, as selected and introduced by Gary Boyd Roberts, Genealogical Publishing Co., Baltimore, 1989 - Obadiah Chase of Putnam County and Washington County, NY, b. 1743, d. 4 July 1799, aged 56 years and m. to Susannah Knapp, was the son of Isaac Chase (Isaac, John, William, William) of Putnam County NY who was b. at Yarmouth 28 March 1714, d. probably at Saratoga, NY. Isaac m. at Harwich 17 Nov 1737, Thankful Maker, daughter of John and Mary (Hopkins) Maker of Harwich. Isaac was purported to have had a second wife by whom he had two children, but it seems likely that Obadiah was son of Isaac and his first wife, Thankful, given the date of his birth and the fact that Isaac had nine children and Obadiah is listed as the second.
