Here's another Howland question I found in the NEHGS 1961 article about Ezra Perry's descendants. The comment made by the author under Nathan Perry's info was that Lydia Hathaway, b. in 1785, d. 27 Feb 1822, dau of Jethro and Judith (Howland) Hathaway and a descendant of John Howland of the Mayflower. Question: Can someone provide me with the line of descent, with vitals and sources, for Judith Howland starting with John Howland down to her? Obviously she is not listed in the index for the two published Howland books to date so am curious as to which of John Howland's children she descends from. The article also mentioned that Nathan and Lydia had six children, but none were listed. Question: Can someone who is a descendant of these two bring the line current by providing the names and dates for the six children? Christie Trapp

A Brief Genealogical and Biographical History of Arthur, Henry, and John Howland and their Descendants... by Franklyn Howland, 1880, shows on p. 112 a Judith Howland "b. 9, 2, 1760; d. ___; m. Jethro Hathaway. Had: 1, Charles; 2, Lydia; 3, Judith; 4. Pardon." [Looking at other dates on that page, the format appears to be Day, Month, Year] This Judith is shown as a descendant of Henry, not John, Howland. The ascent back up to Henry is shown on p. 111: Gideon^5, Barnabas^4, Benjamin^3, Zoeth^2, Henry^1. Gideon (father of Judith above) was "born at Round Hills farm, Dartmouth, 29, 3, 1734; m. 25, 3, 1753, Sarah, dau. of Capt. Thomas and Judith Hicks, b. 13, 1, 1736, d. 9th mo., 1824. Children are listed in "Perry - Long Genealogy 1646 - 1976," by Elwell H. Perry, and privately published ca 1975. It is available in through the LDS Library in microfilm format. The entry for Nathan Perry is on page 161 as follows: Nathan Perry (John 5, Timothy 4, Timothy 3, John 2, Ezra 1) Capt. Nathan born September 9, 1783 Sandwich, died January 15, prob. New Bedford.
