    3. Dear Ms. Stowell, You contactacted me today regarding knowledge of the descendants of Ulysses S. Grant as part of a project that you are working on. You had seen my database on the internet regarding his ancestry. (He is a distant cousin of mine.) But your call took me by surprise, and I didn't have my sources readily available. What is not shown in my internet GEDCOM database, and what I did not mention to you is that General Ulysses S. Grant is a descendant of Mayflower Pilgrim, Richard Warren through his grandfather Noah Grant, Jr. and his great grandmother, Susanna (DELANO) Grant, born Dartmouth (recorded Tolland CT) 23 Jun 1724; died Coventry CT poss. 16 Aug 1806; married Tolland, CT 5 Nov 1746 Capt. Noah GRANT, b. "Grantt's Hill" Tolland 12 July 1718, son of Noah and Matha (Huntington) Grant. Some of the proof for the Mayflower lineage of Ulysses S. Grant and his descendants through his grandfather Noah GRANT, born 23 June 1748, back to Mayflower Pilgrim, Richard Warren can be found in the book PHILIP DELANO OF THE FORTUNE by Muriel Curtis Cushing (General Society of Mayflower Descendants, 1999). See also Mayflower Families to Five Generations, volume 18, parts 1 & 3. I'm placing a copy of this email on the MAYFLOWER email forum in case there are descendants of General Grant who might want to make contact with you to provide information for your project..
