Muriel wrote " I am searching for the parents of Lydia Swift, born about 1770 in probably Plymouth. She married Mordecai Ellis on 14 Dec 1787 in Plymouth, MA. They are listed as both being of Plymouth. Muriel, Me to - I queried Sandwich Archives for "candidate Lydia Swift's" in 1995. The Archivist found two Lydia Swifts in the approximate time frame but neither married a Mordicai Ellis. Suggested that our Lydia could possibly have been previously married to a Swift. Also, she could also be an unnamed daughter of any number of Swift couples. "Swift Genealogy" by Raymond Dodge was on of the sources checked. Not very encouraging.
