In NGSQ 75:105ff there is an article by Robert Wakefield and Robert Sherman ("Henry Howland of Duxbury, Massachusetts, 1633") which states. "Although this wife is called Mary Newland by several writers, no evidence for her surname has been located in a contemporary record." (NGSQ 75:105") Also, according to the article, the marriage was "probably" in England. I noticed that Anderson's GMB cites this article, so as recently as 1995 it appears there had been no change. I know nothing about what may have happened since then. Harlow
