Personally, I consider "Pilgrims" to be members of one of the seperatist congregations, such as that of Scrooby (those whom Willison called "Saints"). Edward's origin remains unknown (I have seen nothing to support the allegation that he was an Hugenot), although a few things suggest that he might have come from Leiden with Philip Delano. See "The Great Migration Begins," v. 1, for the most recent well-documented treatment of Edward. A deeper treatment, also well documented, was published by Florence Barclay in TAG in 1967. Dale H.
